Yes! Attending Reunion

I was married to my favorite dance partner, (and many others favorite dance partner too) for almost 43 years. He died 11 Aug 2010. Our children do not live close so we keep Delta busy. Jeff is in FL and Amy is in Charlotte. We have five beautiful grandchildren.
I loved KHS, especially the first year it opened when it was less crowded. And I too remember when Francis Asbury burned and we had the little children there. We had to help them reach the water fountain. And every Friday night was Willis. And every day in the summer was the beach. Just too fun. I agree with another comment I read, graduation came WAY too quickly!
Love the reunions and being on the committe. Wish all that can come would. We really have a great time.
Finally retired; effective 30 April 2014.

School Story:

My favorite times were pajama parties either at Barbara Whitley's house or Judy Jones's house. We always had the greatest time. And then Donna Price had that jeep and we'd ride around in that. Those were the days. And weren't we lucky to be able to go to the beach? that was really fun because everybody was there. My mother told me I would lose touch with my high school friends and I didn't believe it. Even the folks I ate lunch with every day, David Porter, Sam McDowell, Sandra Vaughan, Jane Blackmon. I never see them. Of course, we lost David. David brought a portable record player (it played 45s of course) to the lunch table. It was just fun, we were young, and had the world by the tail.

Jane" Saw your note to Marilee. I was in contact with her a few months ago via FB. She has moved to NC. I googled her but the phone number was incorrect. Apparently her email address has changed because the reunion letters were mailed through the website and a no such email address or something like that was returned. I asked for her info but she never responded.

I have 15 year old twins; Catherine and Jack. Several of our classmates have twin grandchildren. Interesting. Congratulations on being married 50 years. I lost my husband when we were married ALMOST 43 years. He's been gone 8 and 1/2 years; nine in August. Good for you. God has surely blessed your wonderful life, and mine too. Next reunion is in April 2020. Would love to see you and your wife make it. Number 55!!!

Welcome to the site, Molly! Great to be able to stay in touch. Hope all is well with you. I am sure you do not remember me; I still live in the area and am very active in our reunions. Womderful seeing you last weekend. I sent Anna Fletcher a note and told her you live in New Bern. Her dad, that recently just died, was a Methodist minister. I am sure she is active, or will be active, in a Methodist Church in New Bern. Send her a note through this web site. They basically closed on their house, and then left to be with a family member until Florence was gone. They are back now, and Praise the Lord, they had NO damage.

Missed seeing you last night. Penny Routten and I were just discussing that you registered but could not come. It was a GREAT night. Sorry you missed it. Hope you saw the pictures that I took. Everyone looked great. Hey, I retired in 2014 as well. A tough decision, but now I am glad I did it. A hard transition, but now I am great with it. Blessings to you, Lynda I can't forget you as every time I type "have" on my laptop, your name appears! Think I told you that. Funny!
