Carl O'Brian Christenbury, Jr.

 

Carl O'Brian Christenbury, known as Brian, was born on October 24, 1946, in Dixie Hospital, Hampton, Virginia. He left us on Saturday, April 29, 2017.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carolyn Sue Fox, and his sister, Carolyn Eby and brother-in-law, Marlin, and sister-in-law, Connie Elliott and brother-in-law Jerry, and nephew, Scott Eby and wife Barbara, and their children, Brooke and Jake, and niece, Denise Crews and husband, David and their daughter, Kaylie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Audrey Christenbury, who meant the world to him.


Brian loved his family and was an all-around nice guy. His laugh and personality were contagious and he could light up a room with his wit and laughter. He would do anything for those he loved. He enjoyed 50's music and 50's trivia and was a car enthusiast.

Brian graduated with the first class of Kecoughtan High School in 1965. He was a Marine Reservist from 1966-1972. He was a member of the IBEW in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he lived for 25 years. He retired to Florida in 2005 and lived his life fully while splitting time in Leesburg, Floria and Williamsburg, Virginia with Carolyn Sue.

The family will receive friends 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Thursday, May 11, at 1:00 pm at Parklawn Memorial Park followed by church services and a celebration of life at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, Hampton.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association . Floral arrangements may be sent to the funeral home.

Brian made an impact on everyone he met. He certainly was one of a kind and we loved him very much and will miss him until we are all together again.
