Marvin Bruce (M.B.) Mewborn was born in North Carolina in 1947 but was a lifelong Hampton resident. He graduated from Kecoughtan High School in 1966.  Following graduation he earned his teaching degree from Old Dominion University.  He spent much of his time traveling between Hampton and what he considered his second home, a small cottage on the beach in Jamaica.  He was considered the "life of the party' by those who knew and loved him most.  M.B. had one daughter, Martine, born in 1983.  He lost his battle with a long term illness in January 1993.

HAMPTON - Marvin Bruce Mewborn Jr. died Wednesday, Jan. 6.

Survived by a daughter, Martine Mewborn of Hampton; his mother, Mable P. Mewborn of Hampton; and two brothers, Michael G. Mewborn of Hampton and Stephen P. Mewborn of Centreville.

Memorial service 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Temple. The body was donated to medical science.
