Michael Joseph Nemetch

HAMPTON - Michael Joseph Nemetch, 63, of Hampton, passed away on March 21, 2011.
He was a native of Hampton and was the son of the late Joseph Frank and Nettie Arnette Nemetch. Michael served his country in the U.S. Army and returned to Hampton where he later worked as a mechanical engineer for Warwick Air Conditioning and Advance Electrical. Michael's real passion was Greyhound Rescue, where his joy was looking forward to the "Greyhounds Reach the Beach" every year in Dewey Beach, Del. He organized the so called "Fun Run" and later enjoyed being Santa Claus at the local PetSmart.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his former wife, Betty and her husband, Gregg R. Youens; extended family, Tommy and Chrissy Garner and their children, Lauren and Zach, and John and Jodi Masters and their children, Alex and Allison, all of Newport News; his sisters, Margaret and Bonnie Nemetch of Hampton; his aunt, Ellen Herring; and uncle, Wade Arnette of South Carolina, and many friends along his life journey.
A memorial celebration of Michael's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with the Pastor Ed Merry officiating.
