Jeffrey Scott Stern - Class Of 1966

Jeffrey Scott Stern

NEWPORT NEWS — Jeffrey Scott Stern, born at Mary Immaculate Hospital on Feb. 24, 1948, left us Feb. 22, 2009.

Jeff graduated from the first graduating class of Kecoughtan High School. He was a trumpet player in the band and later played with local bands. He was a graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Greensboro College in 1972, where he was on the tennis team and then he completed advanced studies from Christopher Newport College. Following graduation, he worked as a Rehab Councilor for the State of Virginia.

His greatest passion was music. Jeff found many years of enjoyment listening to all of his favorite bands of the 60's and 70's. He loved the beach and treasured the summers that he was a lifeguard at Buckroe. His other great love was the unconditional love he received from his dog Zach and his cat Angel.

I spent two wonderful summers at Buckroe Beach as a lifeguard

with Jeff. We made our own sun tan lotion, baby oil and iodine. Jeff was always in great spirits and kept me laughing!
