DeWitt Osborne Wilson

On July 29, 2006, the Lord took the hand od Dewitt O. Wilson and brought him home to his final resting place.  He was born December 3, 1946 in Shelby NC, resided in Virginia, and settled in Rocky Mount, NC in1989.  He was an independent contractor in merchandising,.  He served his community through multiple volunteering, including the American Red Cross.  He was a caring man who always had a kind word for a stranger.  His quick wit could brighten even the darkest days.  He was an avid believer in the organ donation program, and through his kindness, even after death; his memory will live on in those he will help.  He is survived by his mother Jean W. Wilson, sister Victoria W. (don) Alexander, and niece Corina (Tim) Durrett all of San Bernardino, CA; stepson Richy (Renee) Jilcott of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren, Ricky and Tara Jilcott of Murfreesboro and Michael Wiilson of Ohio; close friends Tony, Bonnie & Bethanie Kinzie of Battleboro.  In lieu of flowers, Dewitt had requested that donations be made to the American Cancer society or a charity of your choice.  Condolences may be sent to the family c/o Victoria Alexander, 1341 West Congress St., San Bernardino, CA.  Memorial Services in VA are pending.
