I'm Retired Now. I Use To Work For My Ex-Husband, Who Sells Electronic Equipment By Mail- Order. After Our Divorce In 1995, When I Still Lived In Virginia, I Was An Assistant Substitute Teach For The Newport News Schools. I Started Doing That Through A Friend Of Mine Who Was A Special Education Teach, In Newport News. I Mostly Subbed In Her Class.
Now I Just Do Volunteer Work At A Senior Home, Here In Jacksonville. The Name Of The Senior Home Is 'River Garden' Hebrew Home/Wolfson Health And Aging Center. River Garden, For Short.
I Go There On Tuesdays And Thursdays. From 8:30 In The Morning, Until 4:30-5:00, And Sometimes As Late As 6:00 In The Evening. I Do Several Things There. On Tuesday Mornings, Until Lunchtime, I Work In The Adult Daycare Program. These Are People Whose Spouse Or Caregiver Works, And Have No One To Take Care Of Them. These Adults Either Have Dementia Or Altzheimers.
We Have All Kinds Of Activities That They Can Do. From Arts And Crafts, To Doing Ceramics, Painting, Playing Bingo, Doing Jigsaw Puzzles, Plus Lots More. Then After Lunch, I Do One-On-One With The Residents That Live There. I Sometimes Bring Music CD'S For Them To Listen To, And Books To Read Or Be Read To. And We Sometimes Go Out On The Grounds Of The Home. Usually By The Lake, On The Right Side Of The Building. They Love To Go Up On The Pier, Where They Have Tables With Umbrellas, And Feed The Turtles And Fish.
On Thursdays I'm One Of The Mail Deliverers, During The Morning Hours. In The Afternoon I Sometimes Help With Mailings. Like Stuffing Envelopes, And If There Is Time Left Over After That, I Do My One On One With The Residents.
The Days I'm Off, David G. And I Go Shopping. Sometime Just Food Shopping, But Most Of The Time We Go To Either The Mall, Here In Jacksonville, Or To The Outlets In St. Augustine, Florida. We Love The Outlets. We Also Go To The Historic Area In St. Augustine. That's A Lot Of Fun Too.
Also, A Couple Of Days A Month David G. And I Do Volunteer Work Together At His Grandsons' Daycare School For A Couple Of Hours. David G. Takes The Oldest One, Tyler The First Hour, And I Take The Younger One, Ryan. Then We Switch Off. We Have A Ball There, But It Sure Takes A Lot Out Of Us.
I Won't Be Able To Come To Our High School Reunion In October; As I Have A Wedding To Go To Near That Time Period. It's David G's. Niece's Wedding. Hopefully Though, I'll Be Able To Come To Our 50Th High School Reunion. I'll Certainly Try To Anyway.
That's About It. If I Think Of Anything Else; I'll Add It In Another Time.
Comments:

For Thanksgiving The Whole Family Went Down To Boca Raton To Have Thanksgiving With My Mom And Step-Dad. We Had Four Things To Celebrate That Weekend. First Thanksgiving, Then My Mom's Birthday, And My Mom's And Step-Dad's Anniversary, And Lastly, But Not Least, My Sister Susan Got Married In September. It Was Her Second Marriage, And So During Thanksgiving We Had A Big Reception For Her And Her Husband Paul. We All Had A Wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend.

Now I'D LIKE TO TAKE THIS TIME TO WISH ALL MY FELLOW CLASSMATES AND THEIR FAMILIES, A HEALTHY, WONDERFUL, PROSPEROUS, AND VERY
"HAPPY NEW YEAR"!
I HOPE To BE ABLE To MAKE IT To OUR NEXT HIGH SCHOOL REUNION. PLEASE KEEP ME INFORMED, AS To WHEN IT WILL BE!
Well, Enough For Now. Take Good Care Of Yourselves, And Stay Well.

LOVE, LESLIE

My Son David L. Lazarus Turned 40 On January 3, 2011; But We Couldn't Celebrate With Him At The Time. So We Are All Going To Meet At My Mom's In Lake Worth, Florida To Celebrate His 40th Birthday Together.
David's Son Connor Just Turned 6 On June 9th Of This Year And His Wife Patricia Had A Birthday Today June 30th. And David And Patricia's Wedding Anniversary Was On June 19th.
WOW! It's Hard To Believe That I'll Be On Medicare Starting The First Of December Of This Year.
And I'll Have Been With My Significant Other, David Golding 16 Years This September 26th.
That's About It For Now.

Good Afternoon Wanda B. B.,

I Couldn't Find Your Picture In The KHS Yearbook; But I Remember Your Name. I Think We Might Have Had Some Classes Together.

How Have You Been Doing? And How Do You Like Retired Life!
I'm Retired Myself, And I'm Living In Jacksonville, FL. Now With My Significant Other David G. We Love It Here In Jacksonville.
I Do Volunteer Work At A Senior Home Called River Garden. I've Been There Almost Eight And A Half Years Now; And I Love It.
I Recently Had My Mom Brought Up Here To Live At River Garden, When My Step-Father Died This Past December. They Both Lived In South Florida, In Lake Worth!
My Mom, At First Had A Hard Time Adjusting To Her New Surroundings, But Now She Loves It There. She Made A Lot Of New Friends, And Learned To Play Rummy-Que. She
Loves That Game.
Well Got To Go For Now. Take Care, And Stay Well!

ALL THE VERY BEST TO YOU,
LESLIE C.

Good Afternoon Curtis L. A.,

Your Face Is Familiar, But I Don't Think We Had Any Classes Together!

Looks Like You Had A Full And Busy Life Before You Retired.
I Live In Jacksonville, Florida Now. But When I Was Still In Hampton, Virginia, I Subbed For The Newport News Schools. I Mainly Subbed In Special Ed. Classes. I Really Loved It. Then When I Moved To Jacksonville, I Did A Little Subbing In The Schools In Jacksonville. Now I'm Retired, But I Do Volunteer Work At A Senior Home. I Really Love My Volunteer Work There. I Sort And Deliver The Mail To The Residents, In The Morning, Work In An Adult Daycare Program There After That, And Then After Lunch I Visit The Residents That I Didn't Get To Visit When I Was Delivering The Mail. I Really Get A Lot Of Satisfaction Working With The Elderly, And They Get Their Satisfaction When I Visit With Them. I Bring Music CDs For Them To Listen To, I Read To Some Of Them, And Help Them Send Greeting Cards To Their Family And Friends On All The Different Occasions - Birthdays, Christmas Time, New Years, And So On. I Help Them, But They Also Help Me Too!

Well, I Guess That's It For Now. Take Care, And Stay Well.
And May You And Your Family Have A Healthy, Prosperous, Best Ever, And A Very---
"HAPPY NEW YEAR"!

ALL THE VERY BEST TO YOU,
LESLIE C.
